Search continues for car thief in North Augusta

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- The North Augusta Department of Public Safety is looking for a man who stole a car on the 300 block of Belair Road around 10 a.m.

Officers spotted him and tried to stop him. He then wrecked on Edisto Drive, jumped from the car and ran.

The suspect is a light-skinned black male, between 5'6" and 5'8" tall and is wearing jeans and a white T-shirt.

Police tell us there's no reason to believe he is a danger to the community.

Officers ended the search for the day and ask you to call with any information you have about the incident.
