Search is on for suspect in bank robbery on Peach Orchard Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Investigators are looking for the suspect in a bank robbery at the SRP Federal Credit Union on Peach Orchard Road.

Deputies were called to the scene around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Sheriff's Office says a woman came into the bank and handed over a note demanding money. She then allegedly took the cash and left on foot heading toward Windsor Spring Road.

The suspect's wig was later recovered near the Dollar General.

The suspect is described as a black female between 5'1" and 5'5" tall. She is said to have been wearing a red tank top, black pants and white tennis shoes.
