COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. -- Renee Dean has confirmed her adopted daughter recanted her allegation of sexual assault against Scott Dean.
News 12 is told Renee's adopted daughter has been receiving counseling, which prompted her to write a letter recanting the sexual assault allegations.
In 2011, Dean was found guilty of exposing himself to the teenage accuser and was also found guilty on another count of touching his teenage daughter.
His now 18-year-old daughter is one of five children that Dean and his wife adopted.
Dean’s case is currently in the appeal process. This letter cannot be introduced during this process.
He is currently in the state prison in Reidsville, Ga.
