WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- The administrative operations coordinator of the Sandersville Regional Youth Detention Center has been arrested following an investigation into the theft of state funds.
James Sanders was arrested on Monday and charged with 21 counts of theft by taking.
Sanders allegedly took money from the agency meal account and replaced the cash with personal checks. Sanders is accused of doing this over 20 times, totaling over $2,000.
Investigators say Sanders was caught when he replaced state cash with a bounced check.
Sanders is being held at the Washington County Jail.
