AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The State of Georgia is seeking the death penalty for a man accused of killing his parents and brother in May.
Ryan Jones went before a Richmond County judge for his arraignment hearing Tuesday morning. He is facing six counts of murder, including three felony and three malice murder charges, and other weapons charges.
Jones was supposed to undergo a mental evaluation, but it has been withdrawn at this time.
Jones is accused of killing Edna, Roosevelt and Russell Jones and setting their bodies on fire. According to search warrants in the case, the bodies were partially dismembered. Investigators found a dolly, an ax, a hacksaw and a short-bladed wood saw close to where the bodies were found.
Officials with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office say they hope to have the investigation completed within the next two weeks.
