AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- Officers are searching for a gunman who they say shot at an off-duty trooper on Tuesday night.
This happened just after 11 p.m. on Pine Grove Road in Aiken.
An off-duty officer with the South Carolina Highway Patrol spotted a person driving under the influence. He did not pull the person and called the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies searched the area but weren't able to find the car.
The trooper says it was a black Lexus, but there is no description of the driver at this time.
