BEECH ISLAND, S.C. -- A man is in custody after allegedly shooting a 17-year-old girl on Swamp Road Wednesday evening.

Delano Robinson Mobley was involved in an argument with four others at a convenience store on Sand Bar Ferry Road earlier that afternoon.

Following this incident, the group left the store and went to Mobley's home on Swamp Road. The argument continued and Mobley allegedly went into his home, picked up a sawed-off shotgun and then shot a 17-year-old girl in the right shoulder around 5 p.m. He then fled the scene.

The girl was taken to the Beech Island Fire Department by family members and was later transported to GHSU. Her condition is not known at this time.

Mobley's family members convinced him to return to the home and turn himself in to deputies. He was arrested without incident.

Mobley had an active warrant for larceny out for his arrest before the alleged shooting incident. He will be booked into the Aiken County Detention Center and will face charges for attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
