AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- It's a busy night along Cambridge Drive Saturday night as dozens of teens show up to a house party on Thames Place, but things get interesting as the clock turns 12:06.

In surveillance video, you can watch as eight men, all walking in a straight line and carrying guns, walk down the street as they move out of frame.

It looks calm at first, but that soon changes. Seconds later, chaos breaks out. Dozens of teens start running away. The men have started shooting.

"People were just scattered everywhere. People were just running and nobody knew who was doing the shooting," Sheila Brown said.

Brown stood in her front door watching as the whole thing unfolded.

"That night I was in my room doing homework when I heard some 'pow,' and I was like is somebody out here shooting fireworks already before the 4th?" Brown asked.

It wasn't fireworks she was hearing; it was gunshots.

In the video, you can see the muzzle flash as one guy shoots at least eight times as he's running away.

From another angle, you can see the gun hanging down by one man's side as they walk down the road. Fast forward a few seconds, and the shooting begins. You can see another guy raise what looks like a gun and then a person to his right fire at least two shots.

Then as quickly as it started, the street is quiet again.

"That was a real scary experience, and after being in Iraq and Afghanistan, I didn't think I would have to experience that in the states," Brown said.

"The amount of kids and the amount of weapons that they had, I mean it could have been 10, 14, 15 body bags with parents having to go down to the morgue to identify their kids," Cambridge Homeowners Association President Samuel Walker said. "All I could say was, oh my God, thank you Jesus, no life was lost tonight. That's all you could say after you see the chaos and how the kids are running and how scared they are. All you can do is thank God that no one was killed."

Amazingly, no one was hurt.

Deputies did respond after the shooting. The video shows them pulling up just minutes later. By then, it was over. According to the incident report, a neighbor found a 9mm shell casing, but that's about it.

The person who gave us the video asked us pass it on to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. News 12 called deputies right away, and we are meeting with them Tuesday morning. Hopefully, this video will help them identify some of these suspects.
