BEECH ISLAND, S.C. (WRDW) -- The North Augusta man shot in an attempted robbery at a Beech Island barber shop has died.

Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton had confirmed 32-year-old Zann "Zannie" Worrell Jr. died at the hospital shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday.

Worrell was a barber at the Island Cuts Barber Shop. Deputies say he died from multiple gunshot wounds after two gunmen attempted to rob the business.

Deputies say the two suspects then fled the scene in a white Honda. A witness followed them into Richmond County and told officers where they were.

Demarcus LiQuan Booker and Raphael A. Wooden are now in custody at the Richmond County Jail.

Aiken County investigators say they have warrants for murder and armed robbery for the men, pending their extradition to South Carolina.
