AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Joe Neal Jr. is attempting to withdraw his guilty plea.
Neal filed a motion to withdraw on June 21.
In his motion, Neal claims he did not know the guilty plea would mean he would lose his driver's license for 180 days.He is asking to plead nolo contendre. That means he does not contest the drug charge -- but it's not an admission of guilt. You can read the motion here (PDF).
In court, Neal pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, giving alcohol to someone under 21 and drug possession. As part of the deal, he had to pay $3,000 in fines and perform 100 hours of community service. It's unclear how many hours he's served so far.
