AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A woman is accused of leaving her child in an Augusta parking lot on Wednesday night.
A customer said he was walking through the Bi-Lo parking lot when he saw a 2-year-old girl asleep in the backseat of a car with any adults nearby.
A deputy came to the store and got an employee to page the driver of the car.
Ashley Nicole Cruz later returned to the car and was charged with contributing to the deprivation of a minor.
The Division of Family and Children Services came to the scene and took the child into custody, later releasing the girl to her father.
The child was not injured in the incident.
