Man beaten to death with floor lamp in downtown Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County homicide detectives are working their 15th case this year.
Lt. Blaise Dresser said Richmond County deputies were called to 444 Broad Street in reference to a disturbance around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Investigators say when they arrived, they learned Bryant Willerson and William McClain were involved in an argument and had started fighting.
During the fight, Willerson allegedly grabbed a floor lamp and began beating McClain around his body and head.
Dresser said McClain died at the scene as a result of the beating.
Willerson was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
