Wednesday, June 27, 2012

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly leading deputies on a chase and crashing his car.

The Georgia State Patrol says Richmond County deputies and Hephzibah officers began chasing Kenneth Richard on Mike Padgett Highway after he allegedly failed to stop for a traffic stop.

Richard led them into the Burke County line before he lost control and hit an embankment near River Road.

Then, officers say he fled but was eventually caught and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, reckless driving, driving as a habitual violator, no seat belt, expired tag and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
