AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The victim in the shooting near River Glen Apartments on Tuesday morning is recovering after being shot twice in what appears to have been an attempted robbery.

The man was shot twice, once in each leg, and sent to the hospital. Deputies say one of the bullets is still lodged in his leg.

They say the man was walking along East Telfair Street when a gunman opened fire just before 1 a.m. Neighbors say the victim was being robbed.

Deputies were not given a clear description of the shooter.

Right now, details are limited. The victim is expected to be OK, but investigators are working to get a clear description of what happened.
