AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- An Augusta man has been sentenced for the fatal shooting at the Belair Conference Center in 2011.
A judge sentenced 21-year-old Johndrick Barnes to five years in prison and two years of probation on Wednesday. Barnes pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
Columbia County deputies arrested Barnes for the shooting death of James Gillette in March 2011. Gillette, 19, was working in a crowded teen party at the Belair Conference Center then shots were fired in the parking lot.
Barnes was not granted bond in 2011 and time served beginning April 2011 counts toward the sentence.
