NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- A Martinez man was hospitalized after a planned fight involving baseball bats and a machete Monday night.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office says an 18-year-old told them he and two friends met two other people for a planned fight in the Pleasant Pointe Subdivision.

The teen said he had a large Maglight flashlight and his two friends each had baseball bats while the other two had a baseball bat and a machete.

Officials say during the fight, the victim was struck by a bat and the machete, causing injury to his arm, cheek, jaw and head.

The teen admitted himself to the hospital at 3 a.m. Tuesday. He received stitches and staples to the arm and head.

Officials say he could not provide information on the other subjects or the actual location. He also said he was the only one injured in the fight and is not pressing charges.
