Former Richmond Co. investigator arrested on 2nd stalking offense

Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2013

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW) -- A former Richmond County investigator has been arrested for allegedly stalking a victim who already had a restraining order against him.

Timothy Allen Tobias, 45, was arrested on Wednesday on aggravated stalking charges and is being held without bond at the Columbia County Detention Center.

The victim was pulling into her driveway when she says she thought she saw Tobias' truck. She said that she was in her living room when she saw a shadow come across her window, which is when she heard a knock on the door and saw Tobias standing at her doorstep.

Tobias has previously been convicted for stalking this victim and is on probation for this offense. The victim has a restraining order against Tobias, and as mandated by court order, he is not supposed to have any contact with her.

Tobias worked at the Richmond County Sheriff's Office from 1987 until 2010.
