AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A man is in custody in connection to robberies at two Little Caesars pizza stores in Richmond County.

Investigators say 20-year-old Johnny Verdel Walker walked into the Little Caesars store on Gordon Highway on Tuesday and ordered a pizza around 10:45 a.m. Walker then allegedly pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money.

Investigators say Walker left the store when he was told there wasn't any money in the register. He was later found by deputies walking along the 2500 block of Deans Bridge Road. A foot chase ensued.

Walker was eventually arrested and charged with criminal attempt armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

After Walker was arrested, investigators were able to link him to the June 12th armed robbery at the Little Caesars on Tobacco Road. Investigators say he ordered a pizza around 11:45 a.m., then got out a handgun and was able to get away with money. Walker has been charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection to this incident.
