Man arrested in Aiken Co. shooting

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- One man is behind bars and another is in the hospital recovering after a shooting in Aiken County on Monday night.

Public safety officers were called to the scene on the 200 block of Cherokee Street around 11 p.m.

The victim, 33-year-old Derrick Williams of Allendale, was found in the front yard with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital.

Detectives have charged 27-year-old Thomas Foreman III with attempted murder. Foreman is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.

Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6373). Callers will remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
