AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The man accused in a fatal hit-and-run has been arrested.
Deputies arrested 35-year-old Christopher Provost on the 1500 block of Citation Road in Hephzibah Wednesday night.
Provost was wanted for questioning in the fatal hit-and-run that happened early Wednesday morning on Mike Padgett Highway.
Dennis John Skillman, 42, died from injuries received during the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene near Tobacco Road.
Investigators say Skillman was riding his bicycle to work and was wearing a reflective vest when he was hit from behind.
Provost was taken to the Richmond County Jail. He is facing charges on felony hit-and-run and felony first-degree vehicular homicide.
The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office with additional charges pending.
