Thursday, June 21, 2012

AIKEN, S.C. -- The Aiken Department of Public Safety wants your help in identifying a woman involved in two different scams on Monday.

In both incidents, the victims were approached in parking lots by a black female. The female asked the victims if a bag containing large rolls of cash was hers. When the victims said no, she asked to get into the car with them.

The victims did not allow her to come into their cars, which is when the female handed them a cellphone. The man on the other end of the line then told the victims to allow the female inside their cars so they could go to a lawyer's office to claim the reward money.

The female is described as being in her mid-40s and approximately 5'8". One of the victims saw the female leaving the scene in an older green sedan.

If you have information, call Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372). Callers could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
