UPDATE: Richmond Co. deputies make arrest in bank robbery

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says the man who stole from SunTrust bank is now behind bars.

Deputies say they found Eddie Garnett on the 3000 block of Washington Road around 9 p.m. That's in the area near the I-20 interchange.

Garnett is charged with robbery by intimidation. His bond has been set at $7,900.

Investigators say he held up the SunTrust Bank near the Kmart around 11:40 a.m.

Garnett allegedly threatened to harm bank tellers if they didn't turn over money. He then jumped over the counter, grabbed the cash and ran away.
