AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County deputies have arrested a husband and wife in the armed robbery of a business in downtown Augusta on Tuesday.
The Sheriff's Office is charging Leon Player with three counts of armed robbery and one count of having a weapon during a crime. His wife, Imani Player, is facing an outstanding warrant through Harlem's Department of Public Safety.
Investigators say Leon went into Greene City Auto on Greene Street and got some cash. After getting the money, investigators say he got into a red Ford Windstar minivan driven by Imani and got away.
The Sheriff's Office is also charging Leon Player with robberies at the Microtel Inn and Suites on Gordon Highway and the Days Inn Motel on Deans Bridge Road. Both of those robberies have occurred within the past week.
