AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The mysterious disappearance of a 15-year-old out of Columbia is causing concern for both law enforcement and community members.
Gabrielle Swainson was last seen on Aug. 18 at her home on Tamara Way in Columbia wearing black and pink pajamas. She is a black female with brown eyes, is 5'2" tall and weighs 115 pounds.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Swainson's disappearance is "extremely concerning" to him in a news release.
Approximately $6,000 is being offered as a reward in this case, including a $2,500 donation from an anonymous community member. The Sheriff's Department is matching this reward. Crimestoppers is also offering $1,000 for information.
Grace Outdoors and Lamar Advertising are running her picture on their digital billboards in Columbia.
The Ridge View High School student's disappearance is extremely confusing. According to The State newspaper, she left her purse and ID at the home. The only thing missing was her cellphone and there was no sign the house was broken into.
The Sheriff's Department said in a news release that the preliminary investigation "shows no signs of foul play" and that her situation did not have "traditional temperaments of a runaway."
