Husband, wife arrested in connection to murder of father-in-law

EMANUEL COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- Emanuel County Sheriff J. Tyson Stephens says two people have been arrested in connection to the death of their father-in-law.

Samantha Janes Scott, 21, and Randy Lee Scott, 36, have been charged with murder and concealing the death of another. Samantha is also facing one count of financial transaction card fraud, while Randy is facing two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Others notified law enforcement when they thought Kenneth Wiley Janes, the father of Samantha, was missing.

Investigators found what they think is the body of Janes in a makeshift grave on Friday.
