AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- It was a scary afternoon for a grandmother and her grandkids as three men kicked down their door and held them at gunpoint while ransacking their house.
It happened on Cheryl Drive off Mike Padgett Highway around 1 Tuesday afternoon.
"Real shook up, real shook up," said the grandmother who was afraid to show her face or give her name after three men broke in and pointed a gun at her grandchildren.
"I been over here 15 years and nothing like this has ever happened. Never," she said.
She had just gotten home and was spending time with her family. Her 33 year old daughter, 13 year old granddaughter, 11 year old grandson, 3 year old granddaughter, 8 month old grandson and 2 year old cousin were all in the house.
"I thought the kids had knocked something down and I got up to go see what it was and that's when I saw the three guys," she explained.
She says they had kicked open the front door of the home holding guns and yelling.
"Lay down, lay down, lay down. We ain't gonna hurt nobody just lay down," recalled the grandmother
She says one man then held a gun on them while the other two ransacked the house.
"They took computers, clothes, shoes, my purse, my daughters purse, all of our phones."
After 10 minutes they left, taking more than just possessions. They stole her sense of security.
"Lord knows it is very scary, my little granddaughter is so shook up," she said.
In the end she says she's just thankful it didn't go any further.
"I'm just glad we're still here," she said.
Luckily no one was injured.
The suspects were seen leaving in a gold colored Dodge stratus with tinted windows.
Investigators are searching for the men who they say all had automatic handguns and t-shirts wrapped around their faces.
Deputies don't have much to go on just that all three are black males.

Suspect 1: 5'08, white t-shirt, khaki shorts
