AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Supreme Court of Georgia has upheld murder convictions for two men from the CSRA.

The first is Sajid Fitzgerald Leslie, an Augusta man who was found guilty of killing his ex-girlfriend, Lori Joe Hastings, on April 23, 1999. Leslie is said to have set her on fire and left her to die in her car.

Leslie was convicted and sentenced in 2000. He was sentenced to the mandatory life punishment for malice and felony murder and a maximum of 20 years for arson.

The murder conviction and life imprisonment for Michael Alvin Reddings of Emanuel County was also upheld, but sentences for aggravated assault and one of his weapons charges were thrown out.

Reddings was sentenced in 2011 to life without parole, followed by 25 years, for the murder of Daisy Pearl Brown on Sept. 12, 2009.
