Tuesday, June 19, 2012

MCDUFFIE COUNTY, Ga. -- A McDuffie County grand jury has indicted a former Harlem High School Junior ROTC instructor.

District Attorney Dennis Sanders' office says Lt. Col. Mitchell Sivas was indicted Monday on a charge of sexual assault by a person with disciplinary authority. In this case, it's because he's a teacher and the 17-year-old is a student.

Back in March, Sivas resigned from Harlem High School after investigators found the girl at his home in Thomson.

According to the report filed by the school, the teen admitted to having a sexual relationship with him.
