GEORGIA (WRDW) -- Linda Schrenko is officially a free woman.
News 12 talked to the Federal Bureau of Prisons this morning who confirms her home confinement sentenced has ended.
In May 2006 Schrenko pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering charges. An investigation revealed she stole more than $500,000 from students in Georgia schools. The money was used for plastic surgery and Schrenko's failed attempt to win the Governor's Office in an election.
She was sentenced to eight years behind bars and was released on home confinement in March of this year.
She now starts a three month probation.
