Crews say the roof is gone and the home is heavily damaged.

Flames could be seen through the woods in the West Lake subdivision

MARTINEZ, Ga. -- Fire crews are on the scene of a house fire in the West Lake subdivision in Martinez.

The fire broke out around 8pm at 430 Congressional Court.

Crews say the roof is gone and the home is heavily damaged.

Smoke was visible from Furys Ferry Road.

There was concern for a while that the fire might spread to nearby homes and woods, but crews were able to contain it.

No one was injured in the fire.

One homeowner was home at the time.

Crews say the fire started in an upstairs room. The cause is still unknown.

West Lake is traditionally a popular place for Masters guests to rent homes.
