AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The family of Ollie Anderson III can't believe he is gone and that his girlfriend could be the reason why.
The family says the couple had been together for over 10 years and both were pretty easy-going people.
Nobody knows exactly what went wrong.
"It's real hard to even accept that, you know? Or to even just think that. I mean, you know it, but to really receive it is hard," said the victim's cousin, Sheron Burnett.
Early Sunday morning, Richmond County deputies responded to the Gordon Motel Apartments to find Anderson stabbed to death.
"He wasn't no rowdy person that you know people look for something like this to happen. You would never think that, you know, that this could have went on," Burnett said.
Investigators say the person who stabbed him was Tiffany Brown, Anderson's girlfriend and mother to their 5-year-old daughter. They say the couple was arguing Saturday night when Brown pulled a knife and stabbed Anderson in the left side of his body.
The family can't understand what may have driven her to this.
"He was good, gentle, you know. Quiet spirit, and you know, just a good-hearted person," Burnett said. "She didn't seem to be a rowdy, violent person, either. You know what I mean? Every time I was in their company, they got along great."
The argument and stabbing took place at the couple's home off Fox Trace Drive, but Anderson called his cousin to come pick him up. That's when they drove to Gordon Motel Apartments.
Investigators believe he died in the car on the ride over.
The family told News 12 that they didn't take him directly to the hospital because the wound was very small, and they couldn't see any blood, so they thought he'd be OK.
While nobody knows why this happened, the family says they are just trying to cope.
"Sometimes God allows things to happen to bring closeness to a family. That's all I can make out of it right now," Burnett said.
Brown turned herself in to investigators Sunday afternoon. She was charged with murder and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Tiffany Brown has been charged with murder and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
Brown was the girlfriend of the stabbing victim, Ollie Anderson III. Richmond County investigators say she turned herself in at the Law Enforcement Center a short time ago.
Investigators responded to a call off Deans Bridge Road around 4:15 a.m. Sunday. Deputies arrived to find Anderson's body on the ground in the parking lot of the Gordon Motel Apartments.
Investigators confirm Anderson and his girlfriend were in the middle of a domestic dispute at their residence on Fox Trace Drive. He was then driven to the Gordon Motel after he called a family member to come pick him up, according to the cousin that went to get him.
Further investigation revealed that during the domestic dispute, Brown stabbed Anderson once in the left side of the torso. Investigators say Anderson died during the drive from his residence to the Gordon Motel.
An autopsy will be performed at the GBI Crime Lab. This is Richmond County's 20th murder for 2012.
