COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- Charges have been issued for the man accused in a fatal accident on Interstate 20 from March 2.

Christopher San Miguel, 27, has been charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and driving too fast for conditions.

Columbia County deputies say Miguel fell asleep behind the wheel near mile marker 186. He allegedly lost control, hit a guardrail and then hit a pole.

Both Miguel and his passenger, 28-year-old Alaina Kensinger, were taken to the hospital. Kensinger did not survive.
