AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County deputies are still trying to find the person they say is responsible for hitting three cars before leaving the scene.

The accident happened just before 3 p.m. Thursday on Gordon Highway near Deans Bridge Road.

Witnesses say the man smashed into one car, kept going and did the same thing two more times. The driver ran off but left behind his car.

"It was crazy ... it was like watching a movie ... it felt like ... and we had the perfect vantage point 'cause we was right in front of it ... shoot, it looked like something that happened in a cartoon or something ... it just kept going; I didn't think it was going to stop," said Anthwon Gordon, a witness.

Onlookers said he ran into a home and smelled of alcohol. Deputies would not confirm whether or not the driver had been drinking.
