AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County deputies are searching for three suspects who they say forced their way into an apartment home.

Dispatch received a call that shots had been fired off of Parrish Road near West Side High School around 12:45 a.m. Monday.

Deputies say the three suspects forced their way into an apartment home at Iron Horse Apartments. They say one person living at the apartment was beaten.

We're told a second person living in the apartment fired two shots in the air and the suspects ran away.

Deputies say one of the suspects was carrying a handgun.

The suspects were able to get away with cellphones and a few other items.
