AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- Aiken County deputies say they have arrested the man who opened fire outside a store, killing a man in a car.
On Thursday morning, investigators announced the arrest of Morris Laytrell Dorch. The Sheriff's Office is charging the 25-year-old with murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a crime.
Investigators say Dorch shot and killed Delance Terez Walton outside Lucky 7. The murder happened on Dec. 15. Walton's body was found in a car. A second person was also in the car but was not hurt.
Deputies say the two men had been involved in an argument, which is what led to the deadly shooting.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at (800) 922-9709. Individuals can also call Crimestoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME-SC. Callers can remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
