UPDATE: Suspect caught in Augusta bicycle burglary

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW)- The Richmond County Sheriff's Office has caught a suspect in a bicycle burglary in Augusta.

The suspects is a 16 year old charged with two counts of motor vehicle theft and two counts of burglary. The suspect is now in the Augusta YDC.

Officials say they responded to a burglary at a home on Baker Avenue on Sunday Aug. 4.

Deputies say a Trek Model 820 Mountain Bike was stolen from the home.

This is just one of the multiple bicycle thefts in this area and the surrounding streets according to deputies.

They say the suspect is an unknown black male, 17 to 21 years old and between 5 '06 to 5 '07. They say he was also wearing blue shorts, no shirt, white tennis shoes and a red baseball cap. The suspect is seen fleeing the scene on the stolen bicycle.
