MARTINEZ, Ga. -- The suspect in a Columbia County battery case has been arrested.

Joseph May turned himself in on Saturday in connection to the incident on June 1.

A clerk at the Circle K on the 3000 block of Washington Road said he was in the restroom with the door locked when he noticed someone trying to pull the door open several times.

When he exited the restroom, the victim claims he said, "Who was trying to get into the bathroom?" when he says a white male who was standing nearby punched him in the face.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for a possible broken nose. He says he does not know the suspect.
