ATHENS, Ga. (WRDW) -- The son of U.S. Congressman John Barrow is facing several charges, following a traffic stop.
Police in Athens arrested James Barrow early Saturday morning.
The 18-year-old was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and speeding.
He was released on $2,000 bond.
John Barrow recently won re-election as the Democratic congressman from Georgia's 12th District, which includes Augusta.
Barrow's office released a statement on the arrest, saying, "This is an issue between Congressman Barrow and his family. We have no comment, and ask that folks respect their privacy during this time."
