AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The man accused of hitting and killing two Augusta teens in 2011 has pleaded guilty.
William Anthony Shores, 23, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of vehicular homicide on Thursday. Shores was sentenced to one year in jail, followed by one year of probation.
The accident on McCombs Road killed 17-year-old Michael Perry and 13-year-old Sarah Riffe in March 2011.
Shores was arrested over a year later on Dec. 7, 2012, after being indicted in October 2012.
Investigators say Shores was speeding at the time of the accident.
