AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- An Augusta man was indicted this week on child cruelty charges stemming from an incident on Jan. 6.
Roderick Patrick Jones has been charged with cruelty to children and criminal attempt to commit murder.
The indictment claims Jones turned the water on in a bath tub and placed the child inside, threatening to drown him.
According to the indictment, Jones also caused the child "cruel and excessive physical and mental pain" by beating him with a belt.
