MARTINEZ, Ga. -- An arrest has been made in connection to a bank robbery and bomb threat at the First Bank of Georgia on Thursday.
Ted Screws, 44, is in the Columbia County Detention Center and is charged with armed robbery. No bond has been set at this time.
Deputies say Screws came into the bank on Furys Ferry Road with a note and what appeared to be an explosive device. He then allegedly laid the device on the counter, handing the teller a note saying it would blow up if she didn't give him money.
The Richmond County bomb squad was called in and eventually disabled the device.
