AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The arraignment for a former Richmond County investigator has been set for May 6.
Michael Dodaro is accused of driving under the influence in his county-issued Dodge Charger early Friday morning.
According to a report released by the Sheriff's Office, Dodaro caused a scene when leaving the Vegas Show Girls Lounge. Lounge employees say Dodaro threw a glass object before getting in his patrol car and speeding down Broad Street.
A deputy says he saw Dodaro speeding down Broad Street without headlights. That's when the deputy says the car came to a quick stop at 13th Street and went through the red light.
Dodaro's car was later found with two flat tires in the IHOP parking lot on Washington Road.
According to the report, Dodaro was staggering, had urinated down the front of his pants and smelled of alcohol. Dodaro refused all testing and was arrested. He allegedly told deputies, "I don't have to tell you s***."
Dodaro resigned from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office on Monday. He had been with the Sheriff's Office since February 2003.
