COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. -- The adopted daughter of jailed former Columbia County Commissioner Scott Dean pleaded not guilty in court Friday.
Marlin Dean was arrested over the summer for allegedly taking more than $20,000 worth of her mother's jewelry.
Eva Nevarez was also in court for being caught on camera and allegedly pawning the jewelry.
News 12 spoke to Nevarez's attorney on Friday.
"She's entered a plea of not guilty, and she's, in fact, not guilty," said Paul Balducci.
Balducci says she plans on fighting the burglary charge.
