AIKEN, S.C. – Officers arrested two suspects Tuesday night after a home invasion on Sharyn Lane in Aiken.
The Sheriff’s Office and Department of Public Safety both responded to a call on Sharyn Lane around 9:48 p.m. Tuesday, July 20.
The victims said the suspects knocked on the door, then forced their way into the residence. At least one of them was armed with two handguns.
Once they were inside, one suspect ran to a bedroom and seemed to be searching. The victims ran outside and as the suspects were fleeing, seven shots were fired at the victims.
The Aiken Bloodhound Tracking Team was called to the scene and two men were apprehended a short time later.
The suspects arrested were 19 year old Caleb Hill of Scurry Lane in Edgefield and 16 year old Dequan Shakale Holmes of Silverbluff Road in Aiken. Both have been charged with first degree burglary and four counts of attempted murder; Holmes has been charged as an adult.
The Sheriff's Office has no information as to the identity of the third suspect.
