Aiken, S.C.--An early morning shooting in Aiken leaves one man dead. It happened at 114 Kenmont Street. Now, Aiken County deputies are looking for the suspect.

19-year-old Morris Dorch of Aiken is facing charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

It was a quiet night for Prince Shand Jr. at a friends house on Kenmont Street. After watching a movie, they went outside on the porch and that's when everything changed.

Irving Brooks knew Prince Shand Junior for just 8 months. Just after midnight on Wednesday, Irving, his cousin and Prince were standing on the edge of the driveway at 114 Kenmont Street. Investigators say 10 year old Morris Dorch got out of his pickup, started arguing with the three and then pulled out an assault rifle, firing several times.

"When he started shooting I ran behind my sisters car and my cousin ran behind my sisters car and I seen him," says Brooks.

Irving then ran to the back of his house.

"It was just like a machine gun, all I heard was shots."

When the shooting stopped, he checked on his cousin who was OK. Prince was not.

"We came back up to the front and Prince was just laying there on the porch bleeding. I went onto the porch, tired to talk to him but he stopped talking to me," says Irving.

Prince was shot once in the chest. News 12 talked to witnesses who described this neighborhood as quiet. One family lived on Kenmont Street for 3 years and never heard gunshots until this shooting. Prince was pronounced dead at Aiken Regional Medical Center just after 1 AM on Wednesday. His friend says he was a laid back guy who kept to himself.

"There's just no reason anybody would shoot him because he is just a cool dude," says Irving.

Someone Irving says he will never forget.

"You can never come across another friend like him. He's going to be real with you 110%. Anything and everything I'm going to remember until the day I die," says Irving.

The autopsy results from Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton says Prince bled to death due to multiple gunshot wounds. Morris Dorch is considered armed and dangerous.
