Armed robber caught in the act

September 6, 2007

AUGUSTA, Ga.---Garrette Brown is in jail, charged with armed robbery and having a knife during the commission of a crime.

Investigators say he robbed the Lotto Express on 13th Street last night at around 9:45, but he didn't get away because a deputy on patrol saw the man robbing the store.

The deputy chased Brown, caught him, then arrested him.

Brown was caught with a knife, ski mask, and money deputies say was taken from the store.

Brown had previously served 15 years for armed robbery. He was released in 2005.
