NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.---The police can't be everywhere, and that's why you can be their best friends. There's more proof of that after a meth lab bust in Aiken County.
A man and a woman are in jail after a meth bust in the North Augusta area. Aiken County deputies arrested Michael Stewart and Carole Starr. They're charged with making meth.
Officers used a police dog at a storage place in North Augusta, which turned up drug equipment. Tips from neighbors led them to the house at 230 Apache Drive.
"Well, a lot of times in these cases we launch an investigation after receiving complaints, and citizens are very good about keeping their eyes and ears open about what's going on around them, and that's how we receive a lot of complaints," said Lt. Michael Frank.
Deputies had been investigating the two for a couple of months. Both were taken to the county jail in Aiken.
