AUGUSTA, Ga.---Deputies say it was a tip from the public that led them to Clarence Tanksley. He was spotted on 14th Avenue last night.
Undercover officers moved in and he was arrested without incident.
Officers say Tanksley first lied about who he was, but the officers knew him.
He's now in the Richmond County jail, charged with assault, armed robbery, and burglary.
That burglary, at F.A.M.E. Clothing on Wrightsboro Road, ended in a shootout between the owner and a 14-year-old suspect, who was wounded.
Tanksley's son Jordash, who was also involved in that burglary, was captured last week.
