BEECH ISLAND, S.C.---A Beech Island man is in jail on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.
42-year-old James McRae was arrested last night at his home at 595 Beech Island Avenue. Investigators say when they went to McRae's home to serve a bench warrant, they smelled the chemicals used to make the drug and saw the equipment used in a meth lab.
It took three agencies, Aiken County, North Augusta Public Safety, and SLED, six hours to clean up the lab.
