BURKE COUNTY, GA--- Instead of inside a pipe or rolling papers, pounds and pounds of marijuana ends up in a Burke County Sheriff’s Office evidence room.

Burke County investigators arrested 49-year-old Wesley Rogers and 55-year-old Gerald Weathersbee for having the dope in their possession.

The 80 pounds worth of marijuana is valued at around $150,000.

Captain Frank Parker with the Burke County Sheriff's Office is working with the Drug Enforcement Agency and Richmond County on the case.

Wesley Rogers was stopped by a drug task force at a convenience store in Waynesboro, according to investigators. When he came out the store they searched his truck and found 50 pounds of marijuana.

Authorities ended up at Gerald Weatherbee's home in Hephzibah next. They found 30 pounds of pot, several guns, and almost $13,000 in cash.

“We believe the drugs came from Mexico,” Capt. Parker said.
